Since 1996 Grahame has been predominantly working in building asset management, specialising in condition assessment of concrete structures in the built environment. He completed a Master of Engineering Studies at Sydney University in 2001 focused on concrete deterioration causes, assessment and remediation.

He maintains an active involvement in industry associations including serving on the ACRA Board and being NSW subcommittee President, as well as advocacy groups with NSW Building Commissioner’s team in relation to the DBPAct and its impact on remedial work in Class 2 buildings. He is Managing Director of BAAM Consulting, a boutique (yes, we’re small in number) remedial consultancy serving clients predominantly from Sydney to Hunter regions.

• Served on NSW Branch committee of the Australasian Corrosion Association (ACA) between 2006-2017.
• One of the Presenters for Australasian Concrete Repair Association (ACRA) concrete repair one-day short courses, including review of course materials between 2012-2023. Has also represented ACRA as technical presenter to Strata Community Australia.
• Committee member of Concrete Institute of Australia Durability Task Group 1 in 2013-14. Speaker for CIA’s Forensic and Durability national roadshow in 2013.
• Chaired working group in developing the ACRA 1-day remedial waterproofing course between 2022-2024, and to its launch in 2024.
• Concrete condition assessment and remedial specifications for structures including water and sewerage treatment infrastructure, grandstands, car parks, pavements, but mostly in residential strata and commercial buildings.
• Coordination of investigation teams including general and specialised contractors and consultants including application of non-destructive test methods.
• Development of risk-managed solutions to remedial works including packaging the works to accommodate funding and occupational needs.
