ACRA VIC and CIA VIC Event – What’s New In Concrete! (a CIA hosted event)

23 July @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm AEST

Description

Event Summary

What’s new in concrete…and concrete repair? A lot, actually.

With two new Australian Standards on the horizon, the CIA and ACRA are joining forces to showcase our eminent keynote speakers, David Gardiner (SMEC) and Tom Wenzel (SRG), as they share their insights into what’s happening in the development of concrete and concrete repair standards.

David will look into the rapid progression of Ultra High-Performance Concrete and the Technical Specification, leading to its durability and extension of design life and what this means for infrastructure and those working in construction for generations to come.

Tom will provide an industry update from ACRA’s perspective, of the local adoption of EN1504, as the first Australian Standard for the repair and protection of concrete structures, and how this will positively impact specifiers, applicators and clients.

But wait, there’s more!

The ‘What’s New In Concrete?’ Trade Exhibition brings together suppliers, engineers, designers, architects, asset owners and innovators as exhibitors who will showcase their latest inventions and innovations and share how they are changing our future. It is a upbeat environment to make connections and learn about what’s new in the concrete industry in Victoria.

What’s that – there’s more!

This event is not just about what is current in concrete; it’s about the impending developments that are impacting the engineering space. As well as our keynote speakers and exhibitor, we’ll run a VoxPop session with MC Andrew Sarkady, and have number prize draws and giveaways while learning and networking. We will also hear from the CIA NEXGen and CIA Women in Concrete representatives about what’s new in concrete in their space.

And did we tell you the best bit – CIA and ACRA members can register FREE (and non-members only have to pay a little bit).

There is also the added bonus of a great opportunity to network with our speakers, sponsors, exhibitors and delegates, over a beverage and some hot food in a relaxed, fun-filled atmosphere.

This is CIA Victoria’s biggest event on the calendar and it is one not to miss. Don’t delay – register today!
