On 30 November 2021 ACRA will be holding a special presentation by GHD and Duratec on their multi-award-winning project HMAS Stirling Redevelopment Stage 3A.

Johnny Au from GHD and Liam Holloway from Duratec. 

This project won in categories of:

Award for Marine & Wharves
Award for Mega Projects >$10 Million

and they were the overall winner of the ACRA Remedial Industry Award for Excellence.

As part of redevelopment works for the Department of Defence, this project involved maritime structures remediation at HMAS Stirling Garden Island, Western Australia. Under the Managing Contractor, Doric the project was delivered by Duratec Australia. GHD provided design, including undertaking investigation, repair option analysis, specification, technical inspections, and quality support during the works.  Works included conventional and cathodic protection (CP) concrete repair, protective coatings, bridge expansion joint replacement, pile strengthening repairs, fender system replacement, piling & steelwork repairs. Remediation works were conducted on five wharves and a bridge (which are over 40 years old) to extend their service life to 2055. 

Following this presentation are massive networking drinks and substantial food to kick off the Christmas season.
