Design and Practitioners ACT in NSW
1 July 2021 marks the start of the Design and Building Practitioners ACT in NSW. You need to be prepared and many of you sat in on the recent ACRA Webinar on this topic where Jessica Rippon, Principal Solicitor from Construction Legal Pty Ltd, did a wonderful job to help build us a road map to practical things that contractors and consultants need to now be preparing for the new portal. We learned what kind of auditing and submitting to the planning portal do you need to provide, who provides it, who carries the risk, what should you be looking out for in your contract. Jessica’s presentation was eye-opening but the steps have been made clearer.
One way to get ready for 1 July is to complete the new DBP online learning module on the TAFE NSW Construct NSW Digital Learning Platform
Designers and Builders, take note. You must complete and pass the module before you can register under the DBP. The Value of Australian Standards module is also a registration prerequisite for designers and builders.
