Reminder: National Construction Code in effect from 1 May 2023

A reminder that the National Construction Code (NCC) 2022 commences on 1 May 2023, and that transitional arrangements for certain provisions apply.

Applications for a Complying Development Certificate and most Construction Certificate applications lodged with the council or registered certifier on or after 1 May 2023, must be assessed against the relevant volume of the NCC 2022. This will be either Volume 1 or 2 (the Building Code of Australia).

NCC 2019 Amendment 1 still applies to certain Construction Certificate applications which have staged building work.
